Nurturing a creative mind prepares children to deal with challenges innovatively and to take risks in ideating, which are 21st century competencies. We organise in-house activities as well as programmes with external arts professionals to ensure that children develop their creative thinking capacities and their aesthetic sense. Exposure to creative expression makes children more accepting of differences, while hands-on experience with the arts grows their sense of self-esteem and confidence.
Exposure to the Arts
In-house art and craft sessions enable children to regularly exercise their creativity and self-expression, and provide a fun way to destress and explore.
We engage a variety of artists to conduct workshops teaching a particular art form, as well as expose children to professional arts performances. Previous programmes include batik painting workshops, ukulele classes, clay relief art, and attending a theatre performance of “Fantastic Mr Fox” by Singapore Repertory Theatre.
