As children grow, they become more aware of the society and communities that they live in. With their unique talents and capacity for bringing joy, children can act on their awareness to engage with their community’s needs and responsibilities. Our collaborations with community partners enable children to connect meaningfully with real-world issues and community needs, growing their compassion, conviction and willingness to act upon what they learn. They learn to serve the community with acts of love and encouragement towards others.
Community Projects
We partner with a variety of organisations to expose children to ways of meaningfully and constructively engaging with issues and people in their community and society. This helps children to become active citizens, involved in and contributing to the life of their community, and gives them insight into and compassion for the needs and situations of real people.
Previous community projects include:
- Engagement activities with seniors at Pacific Health Senior Activity Centre, Sengkang Community Hospital and Fei Yue Senior Activity Centre
- Anti-bullying workshops with City Harvest
- Crime prevention talks by Bukit Panjang Neighbourhood Police Centre
- Environmental awareness activities with NIE volunteers
- Local partnership with Ngee Ann Polytechnic students’ Youth Expedition project to visit a Thai orphanage.
